Scannable forms

If your data collection involves processing a large number of forms then it might be more cost-effective to use scannable forms rather than manual data entry. Using scannable forms allows you to digitise your data using one of the following technologies:

	ICR (Intelligent character recognition) - used to input handwritten characters
	OCR (Optical character recognition) - used to input machine typed characters
	OMR (Optical Mark Read) - for reading special forms where the person filling in the form marks the page in specific areas to indicate their response.
